Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears releases 'Too Much Music.' The First Single From His Upcoming Album

Published on 3 February 2023 at 00:14

Jake Shears is back with news of his second solo album Last Man Dancing, which will include collaborations with Kylie Minogue, Big Freedia and more, and has released the first single 'Too Much Music' to accompany the announcement.

Too Much Music' is Shears' first new outing since appearing on Annie’s 'Neon Lights' in June 2021, and is teamed with a Calum Macdiarmid-directed video.

The new single will appear on Shears' second solo album Last Man Dancing, which will follow his 2018 self-titled debut, and will include contributions from Kylie Minogue, Big Freedia and Amber Martin, as well as a cameo from Jane Fonda and words from Iggy Pop.

Shears says his new album "is my ultimate house party. Presented in two distinct halves, it chronicles a night’s journey from sing-along dance anthems into the deeper, darker corners of my living room. Electro-pop, tech-house, poppers-fueled disco, it’s MY afters and YOU just got the address. We can be as loud and late as we want… and while not everyone might make it to the end, it’s the last ones dancing who are rewarded with the most magical moments of the evening."

“Too Much Music” is out now. Jake Shears’ Last Man Dancing album will arrive via Mute on 2 June, and is available to pre-order now. He'll play London’s Village Underground on the same day. Visit jakeshears.com for tickets.

I am loving the new single. It's bouncy, fun and has that disco sound that suits Jake's voice all so well! Looking forward to the new album with fab collabs.

Enjoy the video below!
