Madonna 2023 Tour Announcement. A Setlist Wishlist

Published on 19 January 2023 at 20:32

Earlier this month, Madonna announced her upcoming world tour and fans are ecstatic, rushing to grab tickets. The Hanky Panky singer (see what I did there?) is embarking on "The Celebration Tour," which will be highlighting her unmatched catalog of music from the past 40 plus years.

The official announcement from her website reads:

Produced by Live Nation, the 35-city global tour will kick off in North America on Saturday, July 15th at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC with stops in Detroit, Chicago, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and more before making its way to Europe where she will hit 11 cities throughout the fall, including London, Barcelona, Paris, and Stockholm, among others. The Celebration Tour will wrap in Amsterdam, NL on Friday, December 1st at Ziggo Dome.

The Celebration Tour will take us on Madonna’s artistic journey through four decades and pays respect to the city of New York where her career in music began. “I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for,” states Madonna.

So, that got my creative juices flowing and I started thinking about her entire, incredible career. As a music lover, I have followed her from the beginning. I imagined if I was met with the task of selecting such a set list to encompass a career such as hers, how in the world do you fit even some of her greatest hits into only one concert. You really can't, which is why I hope they do not waste such a golden opportunity and throw in some clunkers and yes, even Madge has clunkers! However, there are at least 50 all-time greats of her career to choose from, spanning from her debut self-titled album way back in 1983 all the way up to the last decade.

I have created my very own #MyMadonnaSetlist which was fun to do. I encourage all fans to do the same. No two fans' lists would be the same and that is the fun part. I chose the biggest, most iconic hits for a show such as this one and selected some greats from almost every album. (Sorry American Life and Madam X.)

The setlist is compiled of 50 tracks, which I know, you could not possibly fit them all in a show unless you compressed some into medleys.  This is a list of the most iconic tracks to choose from, that would have the fans gasping when they hear those first few iconic notes.

Say what you want about Madonna, when you go over her entire career in music, not many artists even come close to the chart toppers she has graced us with. So, here's to the upcoming tour, hopefully paying homage to at least half of these selections!

For all the Madonna fans who are attending, I hope it's everything and more!
